Class Descriptions
Yoga for Daily Life
In this class to support healthy aging, we focus on stability (strength and control) and mobility (flexion and range of motion) for moving about our lives with ease and comfort. You’ll get lots of verbal cues for your alignment, safety and comfort.
Overworked and Under Stretched
This class is a combination of spiraling movements based on qigong, self massage techniques using a soft foam roller and strengthening moves from Pilates. Appropriate for all levels, this class helps to support active recovery from daily activities, relieves stress and rebalances the nervous system. Your body will have a more relaxed alignment. Over time, regular attendance has provided many participants with overall improvement in chronic pain patterns.

Powerful Flow Yoga

Sun Salutations are at the core of this yoga practice, balanced by intention setting and light meditation. Open to all experience levels, from beginners to seasoned yogis.
Cardio Dance
Get ready to sweat! This class teaches fully choreographed dances to get you moving and your heart pumping. From hip hop, to latin, to jazz, you’ll get a full body workout with style.
HomeBody
This class offers a slow and deliberate exploration of self. It is a space of presence, self-inquiry, and slowness, inviting us to deepen our connection with ourselves and the present moment.
Through a series of gentle exercises, we explore attunement and movement, starting with a scan of our skeleton, muscles, and organs. We map our personal geometry, delving into the volume and depth of our physical form. Proprioception guides us as we experience the felt alignment of our structure, connecting with our vision, weight, and spatial location. Tuning into our composition and connection, we become aware of the organization of our body within the environment, cultivating a heightened sense of awareness, attention, and action. We inquire into our posture, examining how we stand, hold ourselves, and interact with gravity.

Sound Bath Journey (offered on the 1st Tuesday of the month)
Sound baths are a whole body listening experience that nurture and ground the mind, body and spirit. Maia creates soundscapes that support deep rest and relaxation using voice, shruti box, crystal bowls, Himalayan bowls, drums, tuning forks and other sound healing instruments. These sounds are an invitation to enter a deeper state of consciousness allowing our brain waves to slow down and shift from an active state to a more calm or dream-like state. In this reflective space, participants can experience clarity of mind and an awakening of creativity and intuition.
Sound baths are generally experienced lying on the floor. You are also welcome to sit if that is more comfortable. Blankets, mats and bolsters are available but feel free to bring an eye mask or anything else that helps you feel at ease.

Self Care w/ Soft Foam Roller
In this class, we will practice self massage and refined roller work. We will employ effective techniques for self massage and self care in order to relieve pain and improve performance.
Gong Sound Bath & Yoga Nidra (offered on the 3rd Tuesday of the month)
If you haven't ever experienced a Soundbath Nidra, it's simply a Soundbath (I play the gong and crystal bowls) while I lead you through a guided meditation. This practice has been used for centuries and provides DEEP, rejuvenating rest and helps with changing habits. The practice of Yoga Nidra on its own has been scientifically validated and even used by the US military to help Veterans overcome PTSD. They Call it iREST instead of Yoga Nidra. Adding sound to this powerful practice helps you go deeper.
One of the most profound ways to create relaxation with the gong is through a guided process known as Yoga Nidra, or yogic sleep. Yoga Nidra induces deep relaxation, heightens awareness, integrates changes, and accelerates healing.

Intro to Kundalini Yoga (offered on the last Tuesday of the month)
Kundalini Yoga combines the meditative and the physical to relax and energize. Because it is less well known than some other yogic practices, people may feel like they need to have Kundalini knowledge before coming to a class. Not so! In fact, you don't need to have any yoga experience at all. By way of introducing newcomers to the practice, I'll be teaching an Introduction to Kundalini class on the last Tuesday of every month from 7– 8:15PM.
The simple physical exercises in a meditative context will help to reduce stress, calm the mind, and realize the authentic self. Each class will provide dynamic and fun practices for those of us who don’t have time to travel to a mountain and sequester ourselves in meditation and stillness. Kundalini yoga is for people with busy lives, caregiving obligations, social roles, and worldly concerns so that we can also experience the profound benefits that ascetics achieve though years of discipline and living outside of community. No experience necessary. All bodies welcome.

2nd Fridays Deep Stretch
This class is a slow-paced floor practice that focuses on opening the deeper tissues of the body. We will hold poses for up to five minutes, working with the breath to experience a deep stretch. Props and the wall are encouraged to support our bodies in slowing down. While not a physically demanding class, this style of yoga, inspired by Yin Yoga practices and philosophy, strengthens mental fortitude as we hold poses longer and practice mindfulness. This class is open to anyone and everyone. Modifications are offered and encouraged to make the poses accessible for all bodies.
Spiritual Sundays
It has been scientifically proven that some important aspects of life — longevity, career success, and mental health, to name a few — are enhanced by having a regular spiritual community practice. To most of us, this looks like attending a church, temple, gurdwara, mosque, or other houses of worship and being in community with like-minded believers. This type of spirituality has been an important part of my life, but I’ve also needed to look outside familiar customs.
This class will provide a space to connect with ourselves and each other using Kundalini yoga and meditation to access that same deep tranquility and growth that I have sometimes felt in a more traditional “worship” setting. This is not a religious class, but if you do have a religious/spiritual practice with which you want to connect, you can do that here. You do not need to be religious or have any faith to attend. No doctrine, no religion, no rules — just some movement, meditation, and communing.

Lunchtime Dynamic Movement
Experience the perfect blend of Pilates and Gyrokinesis in this class designed to elevate your health, athletic performance, and goals. Each will integrate and focus on spinal alignment and core strength to enhance stability and flexibility and transition seamlessly into Gyrokinesis, where fluid movements and breathwork improve posture, coordination, and overall well-being. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned athlete, this class caters to all fitness levels, offering modifications and progressions to meet your individual needs. Join us from 12-1:15 pm and embark on a holistic fitness journey that supports your health goals while boosting your athletic prowess.

Reiki with Mary
Reiki-(pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese form of energy healing. Practitioners use a light; non-invasive touch to a fully clothed recipient who is lying on a treatment table or sitting comfortably supported in a chair. The practitioner’s hands are placed on a series of locations including the head, front and back of the torso, arms, stomach area, legs, and feet. “Universal Energy” is brought up from the earth through the palms of the practitioner and offered to the recipient. A full session lasts 60 minutes.
Roots PT and Wellness with Dr. Keeli Gailes
Outpatient Physical Therapy for new injuries and chronic conditions as well as post-operative care for abdominal and pelvic surgeries. Some common conditions she treats include TMJD, EDS, plantar fasciitis, and rotator cuff injury/impingement syndrome. Due to limited scheduling availability Dr. Gailes does not often see patients immediately after joint replacement and other major surgery but often sees individuals for “fine-tuning” when insurance or the clinic has decided you are “good enough”.
Pelvic Health Physical Therapy is a specialty that focuses on treating bowel, bladder, and sexual function as well as pain in the pelvic region. Dr. Gailes has practiced in this specialty for years and has received further training from Herman and Wallace in treating these conditions for all genders.
Dry Needling is a technique that uses thin monofilament needles inserted into muscle tissue to “reset” the resting tension of the muscle. It is kind of like how your computer works better after you shut it down then restart it. The muscle contracts, then fully relaxes and this allows for release of the resting tension to decrease spasm and pain as well as help “wake-up” muscles that are not functioning well. To learn more, read this Mayo-Clinic Article.
Wellness Services include a thorough assessment of your current health status and building of a plan to meet your wellness goals. This may include components of personal training and lifestyle medicine/health coaching recommendations including; how to improve sleep, diet, spiritual, mental and physical health, as well as referrals to specialists as needed.
